Drum Preserve
Innovative Racing Fuel Storage, Dispensing, and Testing Products

Drum Preserve emerges from years of experience in snowmobile racing, dyno testing, product design, and manufacturing.

My Dad, Jim Czekala, started dyno testing two-stroke engine vehicles in the 1980s and overtime realized he was seizing more pistons each and every time. Over time, realized it was due to stale fuel.

Realizing the Reid Vapor Pressure of the fuel was low, the scientist my Dad was was trying to figure out a solution to keeping RVP stable over time, keeping fuel fresh and preventing piston seizures, and the worst, engine detonations from stale fuel. More details in the RVP section of the website.

In around 25-30 years of testing, he realized pressuring a drum of fuel with nitrogen and dispensing was the way to go.

DrumPreserve was founded by my father in the mid-2010s using an aluminum bung that screws into the top of the drum. The original design was a bung with all brass fittings. Originally, a product for racing fuel, it expanded into the food-grade business with liquid foods, chemicals, acids and more with stainless steel bungs and fittings. Systems even grew with higher flow dispensing kits. Dad was the brains and assembler of the company while I was the marketing and website genius helping out with orders and accounts.

In 2024, Jim passed away from a very brief illness, leaving the future of the company unknown, especially with me not knowing anything about the products compared to Dad. With the help of Dad's friends and the positive words from his customers and friends, I decided to continue DrumPreserve to preserve his idea and continue his legacy.
All DP bungs are assembled and tested in Western New York before they ship to your home or business. All systems are supplied with a bung assembled with the needed fittings, a low pressure nitrogen regulator, a ½ in hose for dispensing fuel, a ¼ in for nitrogen, and a copper adapter for siphoning. All you need to complete the system is a nitrogen cylinder with less than 10 cubic feet of nitrogen to preserve and dispense 30 gallons of liquid at 3-5 psi, and a ½ in siphon tube depending on the size of your drum.
DrumPreserve systems are used by many snowmobile teams that have become championship contenders. Our systems are also used in NE modified dirt racing. Teams that use it have gone on to win series or track championships and win the biggest modified races in New York.

I hope you consider breaking your liquid seal open with DrumPreserve and keep your product fresh all year long.
